What You're Feeling is Premature Enlightenment

This is one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies, Fight Club. Some may see destruction and despair in this clip, but I see it as an uplifting and positive metaphor, offering important life lessons:
  • Stay with the pain, don't shut it out.
  • Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.
  • This is the greatest moment of your life, and you're off somewhere missing it.
  • This is not the worst thing that could happen.
  • First you have to give up. First you have to know, not fear, know, that someday you're going to die.
  • It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.
My life has been transforming into a new phase, a new place. I apologize for my abrupt departure after only a few blog entries, but there were urgent matters that required my full attention. I sincerely appreciate the followers and I hope I can continue moving forward and breathe life back into this blog.

I'm going to leave it at that for now, but I'm sure I'll end up sharing more about what's been going on with me. I would also like to note that although I am flattered by all the followers, I have a feeling it's not a reflection of my stellar commitment to blogging, but most likely due to my willingness to post before and after pics of myself. I hope doing so doesn't send the wrong impression, as I only do this anonymously and my intention is to share information. I enjoy viewing real before and after pics and I certainly compare numbers and use others for inspiration.

That's what brought me here in the first place, and I plan on getting back to sharing my diet and exercise, both successes and failures. But I think some of us have more in common than just body image issues. It's a common metaphor with a deeper, more complex meaning (if that makes sense).

That being said, I do plan on posting new pics after I crop, resize, etc. I know, I've said that before, but have some faith- I want to do this more than ever now. I know it's a blog cliche, but I think you guys are amazing, and I admire and share your raw honesty.

Cheers!
